At the end of a long and tiring day, we just want to relax in the comfort of our homes. For your pooch, a crate can be this place! A crate can be a warm, cosy and safe environment for your dog when used correctly. It will be beneficial for you, your pooch, and the entire family.
The important thing to remember is that, like all good things, crate training takes time. But once successful, the benefits are tenfold for your pets - and your family’s, well-being and happiness. Dogs are a natural den animal. A den for them is their home, a place to sleep, hide from danger and raise their family. If incorporated correctly, the crate can become your dog’s den.
Just remember to choose a crate that will comfortably accommodate your adult dog or the size of your puppy once fully grown. Simply start from early puppyhood and have your puppy sleep and rest in his home but if you have an adult dog then just do the same. Using crates will also limit the access of your dog to the rest of the house while they learn other rules like not chewing on furniture. It will be their go-to place to sleep and relax, it will be their safe place. Crates are also a safe way of transporting your dog in a car.
